I've tried many different types of facial masks for acne, but this one was new to me until recently. This brewer's yeast acne mask is very easy to make, and it is great at fighting acne. Some people say to ingest yeast to fight pimples, but I prefer to use the mask and treat blemishes topically.Brewer's yeast, which is not the same as active dry yeast, kills bacteria on your skin. Bacteria, along with dead skin cells and excess oil, are what cause acne. The yeast also boosts your body's white blood cells, which can help heal blemishes.Brewer's yeast, unlike active dry yeast, is full of important vitamins that your skin loves. It has B-vitamins, protein, folate, potassium, copper, iron, magnesium, zinc, manganese, chromium, and selenium.Brewer's yeast can be found on Amazon or at health food stores. Some grocery stores carry it with their nutritional supplements too. Do not use the packets of active dry yeast that you'll find in the baking aisle because that yeast is very different from the kind you need.photo credit: grongar via photopin
