What You Didn't Know About CSI's ZC Formulations

The company has a group of cooperation teams engaged in the 2,3-DICHLORO-5-(TRIFLUOROMETHYL)PYRIDINE (DCTF) industry for many years, with dedication, innovation spirit and service awareness, and has established a sound quality control and management system to ensure product quality.

ZC formulations, pest control solutions for now and later...

Pesticide manufacturers choose a formulation type for a product based on the active ingredient(s), the intended use, the desired length of efficacy, and the conditions in the intended application site(s). A ZC formulation is a mixed formulation, containing one or more active ingredients of a CS (capsule suspension) and SC (suspension concentrate).

In the case of CSI’s products, we built a product with three active ingredients that work together to create a powerful product with 3 modes of action. The adulticide (lambda-cyhalothrin or bifenthrin) is encapsulated (CS), pyriproxyfen is also encapsulated and novaluron is free in the formulation (SC). CSI created this formulation and protected the IGR pyriproxyfen in a microcap because this active ingredient is the most susceptible to breakdown by UV light, protecting it from rapid breakdown. This unique formulation gives PMPs an easy to use, versatile product to manage pests – indoors or outdoors.

ZC FORMULATIONS + CAPVANTAGE TECHNOLOGY

The purpose of microencapsulating adulticides is to help them last longer in the environment; to protect them from UV light, heat, pH fluctuations, and other environmental factors. CapVantage technology creates CS formulations that accomplish that and more. CSI’s CS formulation includes microcapsules that release the product quickly and microcapsules that last longer to deliver lasting results. Additionally, CSI’s microcaps adhere to pest exoskeletons to bring more active ingredient in contact with the pest.

Suspension concentrate (SC) formulations employ a solid active ingredient dispersed in water. They are a very common in the pest management industry because they are easy to use, effective and less likely to damage surfaces compared than emulsifiable concentrate (EC)formulations. They are also less likely to clog spray equipment, filters, and nozzles than wettable powder formulations (WP) and they also tend to stay in suspension longer after mixing than WPs.

PROFLEX, CSI'S FIRST ZC FORMULATION

ProFlex
ProFlex was CSI’s first commercialized ZC formulation. It is labeled for both indoor and outdoor applications as well as food handling establishments. It may be used as a general surface, crack and crevice or spot treatment in, on, and around structures.

ProFlex contains three active ingredients: Lambda-cyhalothrin, Novaluron, and Pyriproxyfen. The lambda-cyhalothrin and pyriproxyfen are microencapsulated and the novaluron suspended in the formulation.
ProFlex makes dosing and measuring easy so PMPs can spend more time solving their customer's problems and less time reading and interpreting labels. With long-lasting benefits and superior active ingredients, ProFlex is the perfect product for PMPs looking for simple, easy-to-use products that are effective against a wide range of pests.

..........................ProFlex continues to kill mosquitoes outdoors for 90+ days........................

The researchers at CSI wanted to determine how long Proflex would last outdoors on treated plants and still provide control of common biting mosquitoes. Proflex was applied at a rate of 1 oz per 1,000 ft2 on plants commonly found in landscapes. The plants were then aged in outdoor conditions for 150 days (5 months). Proflex continued to provide fast and effective control of mosquitoes for a full 5 months.

DURAFLEX A ZC FORMULATION, FIRST TO CONTAIN MICROENCAPSULATED + BIFENTHRIN

DuraFlex
DuraFlex was CSI’s second ZC formulation. DuraFlex is the first product to ever contain microencapsulated bifenthrin. In addition to being the first microencapsulated bifenthrin product on the market, DuraFlex also contains two insect growth regulators. With simple mixing rates and flexible reapplication intervals, DuraFlex is a great choice for PMPs looking for simple, effective pest management solutions.

ZC formulations deliver the best of SCs and CSs.
