Dive into anything

I’m a hobbyist wiring up my very first control box. Fun stuff! I’m ready to add some connectors, and having trouble choosing between M8 and M12.

Everything is pigtails and individual wires right now, so I’d be using field-wired connectors and bulkheads. I need a few 8-pin connections for Clearpath servos, a few 3-pinners for some proximity sensors, and a few 2-pin connections for buttons.

For now M8 vs M12 seems sort of arbitrary, but I’d like to add more functionality in the future and pick a standard that I can grow with. Would like to pick a size and have some on hand for whenever I want to add a new gizmo.

Do y’all feel strongly about either one? Is one of them significantly cheaper, more common, or easier to use than the other? Anything else to consider? Thank you!
