2219 Aluminum is a precipitation/age-hardening alloy with excellent strength and mechanical properties. This copper-containing alloy features extreme toughness and excellent stress corrosion resistance when treated. 2219 is readily machinable and is useful over a temperature range of -452°F to 600°F. It is also readily weldable and has good fracture toughness. In the T8 condition, it is resistant to stress corrosion cracking.

aluminum 2219 is typically used in a range of aerospace products, with high-temperature structural applications including space boosters and fuel tanks.
