Can Be Purchased on Yesstyle: HERE Or Wishtrend: HERE

Volume: 120ml

Price: £15.57 (on Yesstyle) £16.80 (on Wishtrend)

What it does:
-The Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water is a hydrating and non-irritating exfoliant that can be used daily (not exactly a toner but it can be used as a toner to prep the skin).

-Formulated with Mandelic Acid (AHA), which can be used without any irritation even on sensitive skin.

-Exfoliating treatment that helps to improve the skin tone and texture while boosting the effectiveness of other products.

Good for:

All Skin types (Do not use on broken skin – it will sting).

(For Dull Skin) – It exfoliates away dead skin for a more radiant appearance.

(For Acneic skin) – Carries anti-inflammatory, antibacterial properties, making it effective on acne as well

Sensitive skin (large molecule size means less irritation – BUT BE CAREFUL WHEN USING. This is still an acid.

Directions to use:

Use a Cotton Pad to swipe on the face (After cleansing or after toner). Let it dry and then apply serum/ moisturiser.

You can use the Mandelic acid 3-4 times a week before using your toner, however if you have sensitive skin we would recommend you to use this product only 2-3 times a week.

Apply Sun Block if applied in the AM. HOWEVER It is recommended by Wishtrend ot apply AHA/BHA in the evening.

Don’t use this with other products that have exfoliating ingredients e.g. retinol, high vitamin C concentrations (>5%), AHA, BHA.

KEY INGREDIENTS:
Mandelic acid: An AHA – has a larger molecular size which causes very little irritation to the skin. It helps to improve pigmentation.

Beta-Glucan: to provide moisturising, redness reduction is anti-inflammatory and helps soothe the skin.

Panthenol: This is vitamin B5 – a humectant and moisturiser, improving the skin’s abilities to regenerate and to maintain hydration.

Centella Asiatica Extract: Helps regenerate damaged skin.

Sodium Hyaluronate: A natural moisturizing factor, it attracts moisture and helps retain moisture within the skin, preventing dryness after exfoliation.

Full Ingredients List:

Water, Mandelic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Beta-Glucan, Panthenol, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract (brightening), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Fruit Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Centella Asiatica Extract (soothing), Houttuynia Cordata Extract (soothing), Sorbitol, Dimethyl Sulfone, Chlorphenesin, Sodium Citrate, Arginine, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Natto Gum, Carbomer

Texture: Purely Watery / Sinks into the skin relatively quick. Need a few minutes to dry.

The Good:

-No fragrance

-Gentle Exfoliation (brightens the skin and it does help reduce blackheads)

-Effective as long as you do not overdo it! This can easily, just like any other acid – break you out big-time if you over-use it (disrupt the skin barrier). So please start slow.

-Fine under makeup

The Bad:

-It does crystallise a bit at the tip of the product

-Can ruin the skin barrier if this is over-used

Overall:

If there was one acid to use, this is the product I would use AS OF DATE. Perhaps this may change in the future – but I am a fan of gentle exfoliation, so this could do the trick, especially for those with sensitive skins.

Overall Score: 4/5
