How can I select the appropriate protective coveralls for my application?

30 Aug.,2023

Coveralls are made to protect against a wide range of potential hazards such as dust particles, asbestos and toxic liquids. There can be a range of dangers present in an industrial workplace so it is important to supply a protective coverall for all at-risk workers whilst making sure they can manoeuvre freely and carry out their work as normal.

Please ask your health and safety advisor and current safety regulations to make sure the PPE you are using will ensure your safety for the task, and full task duration.

These dangers are placed in categories; 3M coveralls are designed for non-hazardous (CE Simple Category I), or hazardous applications (certified to CE Category III) which can be tested and certified to any of six different “type” standards:

There are additional standards for specialist applications such as ISO6603, ISO 16604, ISO22610, ISO 22611, ISO 2212, EN14126, EN14126 for microorganism protection as well as EN1073-2, EN1073-2 to protect against nuclear particles and anti-static standard EN 1179-5. For more information and advice on complying to the above standards please get in touch with one of our technical team support@camlab.co.uk.

The 3M protective coveralls offer a variety of features for comfort from knitted cuffs to breathable back panels to reduce heat stress from working in warm environments.

To make it easier to choose the most appropriate we have a coverall quick guide on our website which quickly tells you for which application and chemical handling, certification, colours and sizes are available.
