FeCrAl Alloys

Kanthal APM is an advanced powder-metallurgical, dispersion-strengthened, ferritic iron-chromium-aluminium alloy (fecral alloy) for use at temperatures up to 1425C. The alloy has exceptionally good form stability and oxidation resistance properties which gives longer element service life. Kanthal APM is used in high-temperature furnaces for firing of ceramics, heat treatment, in laboratory furnaces, in furnaces for electronic industries and in diffusion furnaces.

Kanthal A-1 is a ferritic iron-chromium-aluminium alloy (FeCrAl alloy) for use at temperatures up to 1400C. Kanthal A-1 has high resistivity and very good oxidation resistance properties. It is used in high-temperature furnaces for heat treatment, ceramics, glass, steel, and electronics industries.

Kanthal A can be used up to 1350 C mainly for appliance industry with its good oxidation resistance and high resistivity properties.

Kanthal A is a ferritic iron-chromium-aluminium alloy (FeCrAl alloy) with high resistivity and good oxidation resistance for use at temperatures up to 1350C. Kanthal A is used in industrial furnaces and home appliances.

Kanthal AF is a ferritic iron-chromium-aluminium alloy (FeCrAl alloy) for use at temperatures up to 1300C. Kanthal AF has excellent oxidation resistance and very good form stability properties which enables long element life. Kanthal AF is used in electrical heating elements in industrial furnaces and home appliances.

Kanthal AE is a ferritic iron-chromium-aluminium alloy (FeCrAl alloy) with exceptional form stability and service life in elements with large coil to wire diameter ratio. It is suitable for use at temperatures up to 1300C. Kanthal AE can handle extreme surface loads in fine wire dimensions. Typical applications for Kanthal AE are in fast-response elements for ceramic glass top hobs and quartz tube heaters. Due to the dense and well adhering oxide, the alloy is also suitable for applications using close wound coils.

Kanthal D is a ferritic iron-chromium-aluminium alloy (FeCrAl alloy) for use at temperatures up to 1300C. The alloy has high resistivity and good oxidation resistance properties. Kanthal D is used in home appliances and industrial furnaces. In industrial applications Kanthal D is used in, for example, terminals to furnace elements, porcupine elements for air heating, and in furnace heating elements.

NiCr Alloys

Nikrothal 80 is an austenitic nickel-chromium alloy (NiCr alloy) for use at temperatures up to 1200C. The alloy has high resistivity, good oxidation resistance and very good form stability. It has good ductility after use and excellent weldability. Nikrothal 80 is used for electric heating elements in home appliances and industrial furnaces.

Nikrothal 70 is an austenitic nickel-chromium alloy (NiCr alloy) for use at temperatures up to 1250C. The alloy has high resistivity and good oxidation resistance properties and good ductility after use and excellent weldability. Nikrothal 70 is not subject to green rot. Therefore, it performs well in reducing atmospheres. Nikrothal 70 is used in electrical heating elements in industrial furnaces.

Nikrothal 60is an austenitic nickel-chromium alloy (NiCr alloy) for use at temperatures up to 1150C. The alloy has high resistivity, good oxidation resistance and very good form stability properties. It has good ductility after use and excellent weldability. Nikrothal 60 is used in electric heating element material in domestic appliances.

Nikrothal 40is an austenitic nickel-chromium alloy (NiCr alloy) for use at temperatures up to 1100C. The alloy has high resistivity and good oxidation resistace properties. It has good ductility after use and excellent weldability. It is used for low temperature heating applications.

Nikrothal 30 is an austenitic nickel-chromium alloy (NiCr alloy) for use at temperatures up to 1050C. The alloy has high resistivity and good oxidation resistance properties. It has good ductility after use and excellent weldability. Nikrothal 30 is used in for low temperature heating applications.

Nikrothal 20 is an austenitic nickel-chromium alloy (NiCr alloy) for use at temperatures up to 1050C. The alloy has high resistivity and moderate oxidation resistance properties. It has good ductility after use and excellent weldability. Nikrothal 20 is used for terminals attached to nickel-chromium heating elements, element fasteners and refractory anchor bolts.

NiFe Alloys

Low-resistivity nickel-iron alloys with high temperature coefficient of resistance for use up to 600C.

Nifethal 70is a nickel-iron alloy (NiFe alloy) for use at temperatures up to 600C. The alloy has very low resistivity and high temperature coefficient of resistance. Some applications for Nifethal 70 are in voltage regulators, timing devices, temperature sensitive resistors, temperature compensating devices and low temperature heating applications.

Nifethal 52 is a nickel-iron alloy (NiFe alloy) for use at temperatures up to 600C. The alloy has low resistivity and high temperature coefficient of resistance. Nifethal 52 is used in voltage regulators, timing devices, temperature sensitive resistors, temperature compensating devices, and low temperature heating applications.

Nifethal 42 is a nickel-iron alloy (NiFe alloy) for use at temperatures up to 600C. The alloys has a moderate constant thermal expansion factor up to 300C. Nifethal 42 is used in high-temperature thermostats, for example, gas and electric stoves.

CuNi Alloys

Medium and low resistivity alloys up to 600C usage.

Cuprothal 49 (Constantan) has special characteristics such as high specific resistance, negligible temperature coefficientof resistance, good ductulity, resistance to corrosion. It has a wide range of applications. Some of them are resistors, industrial rheostats, electric motor starter resistance, thermocouples, heating cables.

Manganina 43 is a copper manganese nickel alloy for use at room temperature. Manganina 43 is used for the manufacturing of resistance standards, precision wire wound resistors, potentiometers, shunts and other electrical and electronic components.

Kanthal also produces CuNi alloys with lower resistivity. Available grades are Cuprothal 30, Cuprothal 15, Cuprothal 10, Cuprothal 5. Some of applications; high current electric resitances, heating cables, electric blankets, fuses, resistors.
